Adriana Lima And Alessandra Ambrosio To Retire From Victoria’s Secret Runway? – Fashion Times
Two of Victoria’s Secret‘s most recognizable models, Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima, are rumored to be taking their last stroll down the runway for the lingerie label.
According to sources who spoke with Page Six, the Brazilian models are wrapping up their time with the lingerie brand after this year’s show in London on Dec. 9. They have both been with the brand since the early 2000s.
Ambrosio and Lima will be wearing a “Fantasy Bra” on this year’s runway. The bras, worth $2 million each, were made by Pascal Mouawad and feature 16,000 diamonds, rubies and sapphires.
“This year it’s really exciting because it’s the first time that we’re going to have two Fantasy Bras on the fashion show,” Lima said last week.
“I’m honored to be here with Alessandra, doing the show, walking the runway together. I cannot wait.”
This year’s official lineup of Angels was announced last week. The two will walk alongside fellow returning models Behati Prinsloo, Candice Swanpoel, Douzten Kroes and Karlie Kloss.
The show’s other models will include Devon Windsor, Blanca Padilla, Jac Jagaciak, Romee Strijd, Jasmine Tookes, Kelly Gale, Jourdan Dunn, Cindy Bruna, Josephine Skriver, Elsa Hosk, Maria Borges, Bregje Heinen, Maud Welzen, Barbara Fialho, Daniela Braga and Imaan Hammam.
Tookes will appear as the hot new Angel on the cover of the brand’s upcoming catalogue.
Australian model Miranda Kerr made a recent retirement from the Victoria’s Secret runway. It was announced on Monday that she would be replaced by Shanina Shaik, the fellow Aussie dating Tyson Beckford.
Up-and-coming models Suki Waterhouse and Kendall Jenner were rumored to appear in the show following fashion week recently, but they have not been confirmed along with the rest of this year’s Angels.
