WHEN the cameras stop rolling on the Australia’s Next Top Model set, supermodel guest judge Alessandra Ambrosio is keen to spend some romantic alone time with fiance Jamie Mazur.
The Brazilian beauty arrived in Sydney on Tuesday with her man in tow and they wasted no time taking in the sights of the city, spending the day at Taronga Zoo before dropping by Bondi Beach.
The 33-year-old Victoria’s Secret star, who’s here to be a guest judge on the next season of the Foxtel model search reality show, said she’s excited to spend some quality time with Mazur.
“Sometimes you’ve got to work on the relationship, keeping it special,” Ambrosio said. “We’re a family but sometimes it’s good to have a couple of days together alone. We get to hang out for a little bit, just me and him, which is really nice.”
The couple has been engaged for nearly six years but she admitted there’s still no date in mind for a wedding, given Ambrosio’s hectic and jetsetting schedule.
“I’m still busy for now. It’s been six years. It will happen though.
“My daughter has started to ask about it and say ‘You and dad need to get married’. We kind of feel married already. We’ll definitely do something one day.”
Their children, six-year-old daughter Anja and two-year-old son Noah, were originally going to accompany their parents to Australia, but stayed home instead.
School came first for Anja so mum and dad made the trip alone, she said, giving them a chance to mix business and pleasure.
“Hopefully next time I’ll bring them. I was FaceTiming with both of them yesterday while I was in the zoo and she was going crazy.
“I was feeding the kangaroos. I told her ‘Next time, hopefully I can bring you here’ and she’s like ‘When?’”
And she said it won’t be too long until her next visit.
“This is my third time in Australia. I love it here. Any time I have a chance, here I am. Australians are really fun — they enjoy life and that’s how I am too.”
Her duties for Australia’s Next Top Model included a photo shoot yesterday where the finalists stood in front the camera for the first time.
“They’re beautiful and they definitely have something. I’m just trying to help as much as I can and let their personalities come out a bit more into the picture.”
Ambrosio provided feedback and tips to the 12 young girls and will join Jennifer Hawkins and Alex Perry on the judging panel.
The new season of Australia’s Next Top Model will air early next year on Fox 8.
