Bethlehem Center needs donations, clothing – Visalia Times-Delta
Organization: Bethlehem Center, 1638 N. Dinuba Blvd., in Visalia
Volunteer opportunity: Volunteers are needed to help serve meals, sort clothes and work in the food pantry.
Donation opportunity: The Bethlehem Center has a great need for men’s clothing because of an increase of homeless clients. Jackets, sweatshirts, shirts, pants, shorts, undershirts, underwear, shoes and socks are needed, said Benny Rodriguez, director.
“Anything [for men] will do,” he said. “That’s where we’re really hurting. There’s more homeless men than women.”
With Thanksgiving just a few weeks away, Rodriguez said he’s worried Bethlehem Center won’t have enough turkeys. Last year the center gave out 250 turkeys and this year, he’s received one pledge for 125 turkeys.
The deadline to donate turkeys is Nov. 14. Monetary donations earmarked for turkeys would be appreciated, he said.
When: Clothing, turkeys and monetary donations may be dropped off from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Where: Bethlehem Center, 1638 N. Dinuba Blvd., in Visalia
