Fashion Police to Continue Without Joan Rivers – Vanity Fair
Joan Rivers knew that the show must go on.
It’s no surprise that her E! show will continue without the famously foul-mouthed and riotous star at the helm. “Yes, Fashion Police will continue,” Melissa Rivers said during E!’s Fashion Police: Remembering Joan special.
In a statement, E! confirmed that the popular series that featured Joan Rivers, Kelly Osbourne, Giuliana Rancic and George Kotsiopoulos doling out hilariously harsh critiques of celebrity fashion, would return next year. “We are deeply saddened by the loss of Joan Rivers and, for the last two weeks, have turned our attention to honoring her memory on all of our platforms,” the network said. “We have also thought long and hard about what Joan would have wanted as it pertains to the future of Fashion Police. We decided, with Melissa Rivers’s blessing, that Joan would have wanted the franchise to continue.”
The show won’t be back right away, though. The show will be on hiatus as it mourns the passing of the comedian, who died at the age of 81. “We’re going to hit pause for a little while, but Fashion Police will be back in January,” said Melissa. Fashion Police is set to return to trolling the red carpet with the Golden Globes in January 2015. There is no word yet, as to who is brazen and brash enough to try stepping into the shoes of the irreplaceable Joan Rivers.
