Meet the girl who reverse photobombed Karlie Kloss! Kara Dudley opens up … – Mirror.co.uk
She found fame when she wrongly assumed paparazzi were taking photos of her – without realising supermodel Karlie Kloss was right behind her.
And now 22-year-old Kara Dudley has spoken out about the photos which have made her a viral sensation.
Embarrassing? Actually, no, she finds it all hilarious. AS. DO. WE.
“I didn’t know what they were doing but I decided to strike a pose anyways because how cool is that!” She tells us.
Kara, who has recently moved to New York to pursue a modelling and acting career (this will surely get her noticed!) said she had followed none other than singer Taylor Swift into the store, hoping to meet her.
After watching her leave, Kara followed closely behind – and on seeing the cameras, assumed they were left over from Taylor’s visit – so made the most of the opportunity.
Good on you!
She tells us: “I called all my friends to tell them that I saw Taylor Swift in Soho, thinking that was the only exciting thing that happened that day.”
While Taylor’s BFF Karlie is seen laughing behind her, Kara didn’t have a clue until she got home and saw the Mirror’s story online.
She adds: “The next day my friend texted me your article with a photo of me in front of Karlie Kloss. Only then did I realize that the paparazzi wasn’t for me!”
We imagine it was a proud moment, once she got over the shock and slight embarrassment.
See the full account of her day here, in her own words:
“I am originally from a small town in Upstate New York and I recently moved to NYC a few months ago to pursue a career in acting and modeling.
“I was just walking around Soho on Monday when I saw a ton of people with cameras outside a store.
“I walked up to a person with a camera and asked who it was for. They said Taylor Swift was inside, so naturally I went in the store to get a peak at her.
“When she left the store, she had photos snapped of her and then got in car and drove away. Moments behind her, I left the store and I was confused when people started flashing cameras when I walked out too.
“I didn’t know what they were doing but I decided to strike a pose anyways because how cool is that! I called all my friends to tell them that I saw Taylor Swift in Soho, thinking that was the only exciting thing that happened that day.
“The next day my friend texted me your article with a photo of me in front of Karlie Kloss. Only then did I realized that the paparazzi wasn’t for me!
“I spent the entire day cracking up over it with my friends and family only to discover that it was on national and international television.”
