Quick-moving storm could brush Massachusetts coast with snow – WCVB Boston

IT WILL MAKE IT MORE INTERESTING. THEY’RE GOING TO BE SLIPPING AND SLIDING. FOR SURE. HEAVIEST SNOW IN THE CENTRAL AND WESTERN PART OF THE STATE AS EXPECTED. OUT IN THE BERKSHIRES, LOOK AT PLAINFIELD. A FOOT OF SNOW. ROYAL STON, ALMOST A FOOT. WESTMINSTER OVER EIGHT. GARDNER HAD 8.5 INCHES OF SNOW. MANCHESTER 8 INCHES OF SNOW. PEPPERIL HAD SIX. SHREWSBURY HAD 4.5. LOWELL 3.5. BEVERLY ABOUT A HALF INCH. STONEHAM AN INCH INCH AND A HALF. A LOT OF HEAVY RAIN ON CAPE COD, WHERE RADAR IS STILL PICKING UP ON A COUPLE OF RAINDROPS HERE AND THERE. EVERYTHING IS WINING DOWN. HERE’S MY CONCERN THIS MORNING. LOOK AT THESE TEMPERATURES AROUND LAWRENCE AND NASHUA, FITCHBURG, WORCESTER, HOVERING VERY CLOSE TO THE FREEZING MARK. DO BE CAREFUL. THERE COULD BE ICY SPOTS IF YOU’RE GETTING READY TO HEAD OUT THE DOOR THIS MORNING AND GO SOMEWHERE. JUST BE CAREFUL OF THAT. 34 BOSTON TO PLYMOUTH. MOSTLY ABOVE THE FREEZING MARK DOWN ON THE CAPE. TEMPERATURES AREN’T GOING TO CHANGE. SHOULD BE UPPER 40’S ON THANKSGIVING. WE’RE GOING TO BE HOVERING MID AND UPPER 30’S. A LOT OF CLOUDS THIS MORNING. A FEW BREAKS OF SUNSHINE. IT’S A DRY DAY FOR YOU. WINDS ARE SETTLING DOWN OUT OF THE NORTHWEST 5 TO 15 WITH A HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 38 DEGREES IN BOSTON. THIS STORM IS PULLING AWAY. YOU CAN SEE THERE’S ENERGY STACKED UP TO OUR WEST. THIS IS ACTUALLY DIVING SOUTH AND OUT TO SEA. YOU’RE THINKING, ALL RIGHT, NO PROBLEM. EVEN THOUGH THIS STORM IS HEADING OUT TO SEA, ENERGY MIGHT COME IN TONIGHT. LATE SNOW DEVELOPING LATE TONIGHT. TEMPERATURES DROPPING MOSTLY INTO THE 20’S TO RIGHT AROUND FREEZING ON THE CAPE. ON CAPE COD, YOU MAY SEE A LITTLE RAIN SHOWER ACTIVITY MIXED ON IN. 8:00 TONIGHT, STILL SHOULD BE DRY. IF YOU HAVE PLANS TO BE HEADING BACK FROM SOMEWHERE, I THINK AS WE GET CLOSER TO MIDNIGHT, SOME OF THIS MOISTURE WORKS IN OFF THE OCEAN. NIBBLE INITIALLY AS RAIN. AS WITH HITS THE LAND, WE COOL IT DOWN. WE HAVE SNOW BREAKING OUT HERE. AFTER TONIGHT IN THE PREDAWN HOURS, IF YOU’RE GOING TO BE GETTING UP IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS TOMORROW TO DO BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING, INSIDE 495 AND ALONG THE COASTLINE, LIGHT SNOW. COULD GET A LITTLE BIT SLIPPERY. THIS IS GOING TO BE WITH US DURING THE MORNING HOURS. PERHAPS UP UNTIL ABOUT NOONTIME TOMORROW. VERY LOCALIZED. HEAVIEST ALONG THE COASTLINE. IT COULD PRODUCE ALL THE WAY BACK OUT INTO CENTRAL MASSACHUSETTS, A COATING TO AN INCH OF SNOW. A GENERALIZED ONE TO THREE ALONG THE COASTLINE. I’M THINKING SOUTH SHORE ESPECIALLY WITH THAT NORTHERLY FETCH. TWO TO FOUR INCHES OUT THIS WAY. SOMETHING TO WATCH IF YOU HAVE PLANS OVERNIGHT AND EARLY TOMORROW. SHOULD BE GONE BY NOONTIME TOMORROW. MAYBE SOME BREAKS OF SUN IN THE AFTERNOON. ONLY 35. COLD TO START YOU OUT ON SATURDAY. AND A MODERATION IN TEMPERATURES AS WE HEAD TOWARD THE END OF THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND.
